5/10/82 Dawn... lovely fogs drift about the canyon, wish it would rain, I could burn a lot of trimmings. [...]

I dreamed of petroglyphs last night, many of them, many many in different locations, subtly camouflaged by centuries of wind and water. Some were quite laughable, round spots about one foot in diameter scattered over a large gently sloping rock face ~ turned out to be ‘seat-glyphs,’ places where Indians sat to take in the sun and rubbed patches of lichen away with their butts.”
